Resist Loosening SS304 M12x1.25 Self Nylon Insert Lock Nuts
1.Product Description
Nylon Insert Lock Nuts are self-locking nuts, hex nuts with nylon-inserted collars at their one side end. These collars cling to the thread of the fastener bolt or screw which being used with. While a bolt or screw reaches the collar, the threads and nylon form a tight and self locking frictional fit, preventing movement of the fastener. Nylon Insert Lock nuts resisting loosening when placed on bolts. This makes them useful for holding wheels onto axles, or in automotive engines where machine vibration would otherwise loosen the fastener. Lock nuts may also be used as jam nuts, threaded over another nut to keep it in place. Nylon Insert Lock Nuts differ from a standard hex nut in that they have a nylon insert secured within the nut. The nylon insert is located in a tapered section located at the back of the nut. When you install the nylon lock nut onto a bolt or threaded stud, the nylon insert wraps around the threads and locks the nut in place. This gives a nylon lock nut a distinct advantage over a lock washer when the bolt or threaded stud is subject to vibration, as the nylon lock nut is unaffected by vibration. The plastic insert is placed at the end of the nut, and its inner diameter is slightly smaller than the major diameter of the screw. The insert deforms elastically over the threads of the screw, but threads are not cut into the nylon. The nylon insert locks the nut by friction against the screw under the applied radial compressive force.

3.Application
The function of the nylon insert lock nut is to resist loosening. With a nylon insert lock nut, the nylon flows between the threads until a uniform pressure is exerted against the thread crests, which could protect the thread. The nylon is also compressed between the flanks, creating dual action absorbing vibration as well as resisting movement. The locking quality is only on factor to consider in a lock nut. Mechanical strength, thermal properties, resistance to chemicals, elastic recovery and durability all contribute to the lock nut's characteristics.
4.Advantages
